What we collect
- Enquiries and bookings: your name, business name, email, phone, suburb and state, preferred contact time, the services you are interested in and your message.
- Client engagements: the information we need to provide our services, which may include your date of birth, address, tax file number, ABN, financial and banking records, payroll and employee information, and identity documents.
- Website: if you arrive from a link containing campaign tags (such as utm_source), we keep those tags in your browser so they can be included with your enquiry. This website does not use advertising cookies.
Why we collect it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, provide and bill for our accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, payroll and company secretarial services, meet our legal and professional obligations and, with your consent, keep you informed about our services. If you don’t provide the information we need, we may not be able to provide our services.
Who we disclose it to
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only as needed to provide our services or as required by law, for example to the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC and other government bodies, and to the service providers we use to run our practice, such as cloud accounting software, secure document storage, email, web form and calendar providers. Where a provider stores information outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected.
How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and keep records for as long as tax and other laws require. Please don’t send tax file numbers or bank details through the website enquiry form.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing info@topaccountants.com.au or calling 1300 009 007. If you have a privacy complaint, please contact us first and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
